Bay seniors, who knew that Daly City had a coastline, much less a beach? Take the Palmetto exit off Highway 1 to Westline Drive to Mussel Rock Beach. It’s geologically significant because this is where the San Andreas Fault meets the Pacific. Ice plants blanket the cliffs and there are a few paths, some steep and some easy to down to the pristine beach which rolls on for miles. A favorite spot for paragliders. Keep on walking and you’ll end up at Fort Funston. Dogs on leash are ok but keep an out for coyotes here. Parking and free access.
