Wintertime hiking means it’s likely you’ll have trails, often jammed in the hot summer, all to yourselves. A real beauty is the 900-acre Huddart Park in Woodside with a dozen easy, flat elevation trails of four miles or less, open meadows, redwood forests and rippling winter creeks. Very easy access. Only 10 minutes from the Woodside exit on 280. No dogs allowed. The open space next door, Wunderlich Park, offers similar natural pleasures. Both are unassailable arguments at our good fortune at living in the Bay Area.
