What every kitchen needs during these chilly winter days  is a big pot of stewish soup on the burner. A highly recommended addition to your cold weather repertoire is pozole , the Mexican classic which is usually pork based. You can make it with chicken or beef or vegetarian plus various chiles, red or green sauce, avocado, salsa and lime. Hearty but not too heavy. Like most stews its gets better the second and third day.
