The Fillmore is not as black as it used to be, but this Saturday from 11-6 it will be the site of the U.S.’s second largest Juneteenth celebration, commemorating the official 1865 abolition of slavery in Texas. It is all happening on Fillmore between Geary and Golden Gate from 11 to 6, with wall to wall marching bands, drill teams, horseback tiding, car clubs, a kids fun zone, crafts, health booths, fresh food and get-up-and-dance entertainment. Free.
