You’ve been warned to stay out of San Francisco Bay because even in ┬ásummer when the water temperature is a cold 60 degrees, the chances of ┬ábeing attacked by hypothermia are too risky. The warning apparently doesn’t stop elite, fit athletes who are not even greased up, and who’ll be jumping in on August 18 to swim 3k from Fort Point under the Golden Gate Bridge, where it’s 340 feet deep with dozens of shark species, to Finger Point Rock. You can watch in complete safety from the shore or if you’re mad enough you can plead your way into joining them.
